Registration & Welcome drink

The Conference Opening Ceremony will take place in Vila Lanna (time will be announced later).

Opening hours of the Conference Office in Vila Lanna will be announced.
All additional payments of Conference fees should be paid only in the Conference Office.

Currency

The currency in the Czech Republic is the Czech Crown (Kč = CZK). Approximate exchange rates are: 1 EUR = 26 CZK, 1 USD = 22 CZK (see Central bank exchange rate fixing for current rates). In shops, foreign currency is not generally accepted however there are numerous exchange offices all over town. Card payments by Visa and MasterCard are accepted by most establishements.

Arrival

Transport from Prague airport: Please note that there are two arrival halls at the airport (for Non-Schengen countries - Terminal 1; for Schengen countries - Terminal 2).

Public transportation bus No. 119 connects the airport with the Metro station Nádraží Veleslavín (17 min, operates 04 - 24 h. daily). Time interval is about 10 min. The bus stations are close to arrival terminals exits. Price for the bus ticket is 32 CZK in the ticket machines located directly at the bust stops. Tickets can also be purchased at the Public Transport counters in Arrival Halls of Terminals 1 & 2 (from 7 am to 10 pm).

The cheapest way to get to Vila Lanna is by bus No. 119 mentioned above. The bus terminates directly at the Metro station Nádraží Veleslavín, Line A. From there you can take the underground to Metro station Hradčanská (3 stops) and then walk to Vila Lanna (see the map). There is no public transport directly to Vila Lanna.

Airport taxi service:

We recommend Tick Tack taxis, you may order online http://www.ticktack.cz/en  or call +420 14222 or +420 721 300 300 (English speaking operators). If you provide number of your flight, the driver will be waiting for you at arrivals. Payment by card is accepted.

An alternative would be AAA taxis (http://www.aaaradiotaxi.cz), +420 14014 or +420 222 333 222.

When in town, we recommend using the same taxi companies, that provide a reliable service. They will usually arrive in 10 min at no extra charge. Service at hotel/hostel reception can order you a taxi as well. Do not take a taxi from the street, or at the minimum ask about the price to your destination upfront.

To Vila Lanna from railway stations:
Main Railway Station (Praha Hlavní nádraží) and Railway station Praha Holešovice: Both railway stations are on Metro line C. Take train in direction Háje, change at station Muzeum to line A and go to station Hradčanská and then walk to Vila Lanna (see the map). There is no public transport directly to Vila Lanna.

Public transport system in Prague

One of the best public transportation systems in Europe, there are 3 Metro (underground) lines A, B and C, trams and busses.
The journey to the city center, from Metro station Nádraží Veleslavín to Metro station Můstek (Václavské náměstí), takes about 11 min.
Tickets can be purchased at the airport or at all Metro stations at ticket vendors. The prices of tickets are 30 min - 24 CZK, 90 min - 32 CZK, One day (24h) - 110 CZK, 3 days (72 h) - 310 CZK.

Car parking

As Vila Lanna is situated in a residential quarter the parking space there is rather limited. Recommended guarded car parking in Technická street 6, Prague 6, in the building of the National Technical Library (NTK) (see the map) or on the Vítězné náměstí (see the map).

Insurance

Participants are advised to arrange health and travel insurance and whatever other insurance they consider necessary prior to departure. The Conference registration fees do not include provision of insurance. The Organisers do not assume responsibility or liability for personal accidents and loss or damage to belongings caused.

When traveling in Prague just as in other big capitals, take great care of your belongings. Don't leave baggage unattended, beware of pickpockets in crowded areas.

Weather

At the beginning of May mild spring temperatures can be expected (round 20 degrees C), however, occasional rainy showers and cooler weather, as well as warmer summer weather, are possible.
